At Slate & Wedge we offer private and corporate cheese tastings to bring the finest French Alpine cheeses to you. Whether you love cheese and are looking for an event with a difference or you are an Alpine enthusiast missing the mountains, we would love to host an event for you.
What can you look forward to?
An interactive flight of six Alpine cheeses, direct from the Savoie region of France. Your knowledgeable Slate & Wedge host will firstly introduce you to the history of cheese and from there you will be guided through each, learning and tasting over two hours. The cheeses will be accompanied by bread, crackers, chutneys, fruit and nuts. You will also get tasting notes to keep.
Love cheese? Love wine? We will provide wine pairing recommendations to enable you to perfectly match each cheese with a wine chosen by you. Please note that no alcohol is provided at tastings. We believe this gives you the most flexibility to enjoy our cheeses your way.
Like cheese, no two tastings are the same, so events can be made shorter or longer to suit you.
How much and for how many people?
£20.00 per person. We request a minimum group size of six adults. If you are fewer than this, we can still run the tasting but need to charge for six guests. We have hosted tastings for 40 people but for numbers above this, especially corporate tastings, we may alter the format slightly. We ask for a 40% non-refundable deposit with final payment two weeks before your event. Final guest numbers are to be confirmed at this final payment.
Do you just host private events?
From birthday parties, hen dos, family celebrations and dinner parties to office team building and company entertainment, we offer tastings for both private and corporate groups. Do get in touch so we can discuss your event in more detail, especially if your objectives are not covered by the above format. We do our very best to accommodate all enquiries. Tastings can be hosted throughout the week, afternoon or evening, with a latest start time of 8pm.
What do you need to provide?
We are here to make hosting hassle free for you, so we provide the cheeseboard, cheese knives, napkins, individual knives and plates. You just need to provide your drinks of choice and suitable glassware.
Where do you host events?
We travel across the BS and BA postcodes, bringing cheese tastings to you. Homes, offices, schools, shops and breweries are just a few of the places we have hosted. To organise a tasting get in touch with your preferred date, location and address and we will get back to you with availability. Outside of these postcodes travel costs may apply.
